Teachers work in groups and begin the process of outlining a plan for the week. Teachers will have access to the Maker Space at DU every afternoon from about 4pm to 6pm and after dinner until 10pm. Materials and supplies to build prototypes are located in Room 200 just upstairs from the Innovation Floor Room 107.
That plan may include:
- Brainstorming ideas and topics for invention project
- Selecting a theme or topic or problem to be solved
- Applying the principles of innovation (e.g. Design Thinking, testing their invention ideas with "real" customers)
- Creating a design and prototype (e.g. 3D printed prototype)
- Incoprorating the principles of Intellectual Property (patents, trademarks, copyright, trade secrets) as part of their invention.
- Developing a marketing strategy and planning a 3-minute pitch of invention to be delivered by the group on Thursday evening at 7pm in the Rotunda Room 510.
